[ here they are at the stage!! this is a lot grander than ruby is used to, the stages she's been on have always related to school or battle in some way. she thinks that seeing a play might be fun!

she's sitting on the edge of the stage when she spots kumon!! and waves him down, not noticing the bubble that randomly appears when he gets closer. ]

Kumon! Have you been on a stage like this before? It's huuuuge!

[ it is now when she sees the bubble. ] A bubble? Wonder what it's for...

[ she's two seconds away from poking it, but instead the bubble surrounds the two of them. there's a splash of colors and then... ]

[ "The first person you make eye contact with after landing will be your partner for the next four years."

horrifying. absolutely disastrous. this can't be happening!

all things you are feeling as you prepare to be launched into the woods, where your first big test as a huntress will begin.

Professor Ozpin tells all of you to get into position and not too long after you're all launched into the sky, having to come up with your own landing strategy. this is easy enough for you, using crescent rose's recoil to your advantage, firing off a few shots to slow your speed and then extending it to scythe form and catching yourself on a tree branch.

you're on the ground and running, the thought of Gotta find Yang. Gotta find Yang. repeating in your mind. You have had trouble making new friends at beacon, so of course you'd want to team up with your sister!!

nope.

you instead run into Weiss, who you have not been getting along with...and it seems she shares that feeling, as she promptly walks away.

but it isn't long til she comes back? princess Weiss has had a change of heart!!

this is where it gets dicey, because after you go on and on about how you'll show her how great you are and she'll be like "Wow, that Ruby girl is so cool! And I want to be her friend!" a pack of beowolves shows up!!

this is where you should be impressing Weiss, showing her how fast and skilled you are in a fight, but instead you just get in the way.

"Hey, watch it!

Excuse me! You attacked out of turn! I could have killed you!

You'll have to try a lot harder than that..."

and once you're away from the grimm and fire you caused, the argument continues.

"What was that?! That should've been easy!

Well perhaps if you had exercised even the slightest amount of caution with the placement of your strikes, I wouldn't have set the forest on fire!

What's that supposed to mean?

I'm just surprised someone who talks so much would communicate so little during an encounter!

Well, I'm sorry you need my help to win a fight. I'm just fine on my own!

Well, congratulations on being the strongest child to sneak your way into Beacon. Bravo!"

and in a fit of frustration you yell, taking crescent rose and cut down a tree...is it because you know Weiss is right? yeah, probably.

you blink...and now you're lost? Weiss swears it was this way! but then stops, thinks maybe it's the other way? nope. okay, she's decided you all must have passed it!!

this is so frustrating! why does she go around thinking she knows everything! and you tell her that, to which she asks what that means, and you call her a jerk! tell her you hate her!! but she isn't entertaining it, instead she walks away, so you make fun of her:

"Oh, just keep moving! Hurry up! Waaaah! Watch where you're going! ... Why are you so bossy!?"

she claims she isn't, don't say things like that! well maybe if she stopped treating you like a kid, you would stop! she tells you to stop acting like one, then! well sorry you can't be little miss perfect...she says she isn't, not yet, but she's still far better than you! ...she doesn't even know you.

you blink...and now you're flying? through the sky on a giant bird? it's a nevermore. a type of grimm. and you had the genius idea to fly on it high above the forest, so you can easily spot the temple. Weiss hates this, of course, but you think it's fine! and as she continues to protest you jump off the bird and fall down to the temple.

there's Yang! finally you've found her, but just as you get close you are knocked out of the sky by a flying Jaune. this is just a minor setback, because you're able to get back on your feet and down to the action! just in time too, because there's a giant deathstalker causing problems.

you impulsively run to fight it, even after seeing your friends get knocked back, and of course it goes wrong.

a huge nevermore joins the fight, the one you hitched a ride on earlier. and this happens.

"I'm not trying to show off. I want you to know I can do this.

You're fine."

you blink...and now you're at the final boss, the nasty nevermore from earlier has circled back, you have to work together to take this thing down! half of you take on the deathstalker that has gotten free of Weiss' ice, this does take some time and lots of error, but it goes down!

now faced with the problem of taking down the giant grimm, you formulate a plan, and with the help of Yang, Blake and Weiss, you are able to execute it.

you blink...and you're back at the school, teams are being put together by Professor Ozpin and it is your turn! Team RWBY is here!! ]

[ another burst of color and the bubble pops. ruby blinks and looks around for a second, completely caught off guard. ]

Well that was, uh...weird. A bubble that plays a memory like a movie? Or I guess a play, since we are on a stage?

[ small nervous laugh ]

You alright, Kumon?

[ she's a little embarrassed, because she knows now just how silly she'd been back then. but everything worked out! so it's fine. ]

[9mon]

[Blinks]

Isn't it a lot more like a movie when it's like that? Or maybe like a recording?

That was so cool though! With the... magic?! [What else can summoning ice be? It has to be magic, right?] And working together! You looked like a hero!

w3: Saturday

[9mon]

[Some idiot normie teenager fainted at trial, but he will eventually get up and be able to move around some.]

Ruby?
Where are you?

[petalbursts]

[ there's a brief delay in her response. ]

[ It takes a little while, but he'll make it to the library. ]

w3, sunday post-exec

[petalbursts]

[ back at it again in the library, this time ruby is actually reading the books she has picked out. and when she sees kumon she'll wave him over. ]

Hey, Kumon. How are you feeling?

[ pats the spot next to her, on the floor.

she seems to be in a little better spirits than the day before, at least. ]

[9mon]

I... have no idea.

[There's relief about Percy and Vax, but then everything that happened with Malik, not to mention Chang Geng and Chinatsu. It's hard to decide on a solid feeling.

He does go to sit next to her, looking at the books she's picked out.]

I understand...

[ she nods, knowing exactly how he's feeling. there's a lot to feel at the moment.

once he sits, she'll show him the book she's looking at, which is just a book with various fairytales. ]

Thought coming here and reading a book, might help, clear my head. Seems to be working okay, so far.

[ beach time!

ruby's walking along the sand, carrying her boots in one hand, while looking out at water.]

This place is pretty calming...it's nice.

[ she smiles! it's the warmest she's managed as of late, her mood seems to be improving. ]

[Kumon's in his usual outfit, padding through the sand.]

When I was a little younger we used to go to the beach a whole bunch.

[A cozy sort of nostalgic vibe from him.]

Really? What's your favorite thing do to, at the beach?

[ the cozy vibe is contagious, which is nice. she seems comfortable here! ]

[ they're here in the anime store!

i'm sure there's places like this back home for her, but they'd lean more towards comic shop. also nothing here looks familiar? except for the cute pastries and of course...

THESE GIANT FIGURES OF THEM. which she is currently staring at. specifically the giant crescent rose her figure is holding. ]

I wonder how sharp it is....

[Some of us are absolute nerds and are having a great time in this anime shop.]

[ she looks around, before reaching up to lightly touch the point of the scythe. sharp!! she looks pleased. ]

It's kinda weird to see yourself made out of plastic? But also kinda cool.

[PURIKURA~! You don't expect these inside random Prisms, but you do expect them in random malls.

He waves to Ruby when she comes in.]

I've used photo booths before, but they've never been this fancy.

[ she looks very excited about all of this. ]

These are so fun, they add stickers and stuff and you and put them wherever!

[ tosses them into the void, they can be anywhere!

ruby is coughing a little, patting at her chest as she does. but she waves to kumon, upon seeing him. ]

[Into the library with them.]

Hey, you holding up okay?

[ back at it again. ]

Still trying to catch my breath...there was a pretty strong smell in here earlier, when we checked it.

[ other than that, she does seem pretty upset. it's okay. ]

What about you, Kumon, how are you holding up?

[petalbursts]

[ here they are at the stage!!

ruby wanders in, not really with any goal, but when she sees kumon she waves! ]

Hey, Kumon. What are you up to?

[9mon]

[Waves back!]

I've just been wandering all day, I keep forgetting what I'm supposed to be doing? It's been a weird day.
